Help for Heroes raises money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country.
The organisation asks its supporters to “do their bit” to show these extraordinary young men and women that they are cared for by us.

Raven Roofing Supplies are pleased to announce that Lee Carroll has been appointed as the new manager of the Hawkhurst depot.
Lee will bring a wealth of experience to the operation in Kent and will be supported by Steve Dyke in the position of assistant manager. Grant Hyner, who has managed the branch for several years, has taken the decision to emigrate to Australia and we wish him all the best for the future.

Raven Roofing Supplies are pleased to announce the appointment of two new external sales representatives to further support and strengthen this growing side of the business.
Nick Tyler is assisting the Swindon, Thatcham and Basingstoke depots. Nick brings with him a wealth of experience having worked in roofing sales for many years.
John Price is working within the Kent and Sussex areas covering the Hawkhurst depot. Since the move to new, modern premises in mid 2011, the Hawkhurst branch has grown quickly and John will be focused on furthering this rapid expansion.

The Raven Roofing Supplies Golf Day
Despite occasional light drizzle during the afternoon some excellent scores were made but the eventual overall winner was Sean Wooton from Cupa Natural Slate with an excellent 40 points.
The team winners were Trevor Lambden, David Creek and John Murphy, the longest drive went to Andy Lund and the nearest the pin to Darren Olliffe.
The fastest loss of the “yellow ball” also went to Darren Olliffe who claimed his second prize of the day, although he may have preferred not to have won this one.

Lee Carroll has recently reached his 25th year of employment with Raven Roofing Supplies.
Lee joined the Company in August 1986 straight from school and has seen many changes in his time, including the introduction of a computerised trading system and mobile phones!
He has held a variety of different posts within Raven and is currently working at both Twickenham and Hawkhurst depots in a sales capacity.
Thank you and congratulations, Lee, here’s to the next 25 years!

On April the 4th the grand opening of the new Raven Roofing Supplies Specialist Training Centre took place in Swindon. The centre is dedicated to the training and education of roofing systems deemed to be specialist.
On two levels the centre has a variety of full sized cut away displays for single ply membranes, GRP roofing, cut to falls insulation and solar PV systems. Training in all these areas is provided by the company, and supported by manufacturers. There is a classroom for theoretical work, and a large workshop for practical instruction.
The open day was well attended by contractors, developers and architects all keen to see the products and demonstrations. Representatives from many of the roofing manufacturers involved were also there to field question about their systems.
The centre is available for anyone wishing to come a see the displays and get an understanding of correct installation and roof build up practice free of charge. We will also be happy to send you information on prices for any of the course we hold there.

Raven Add GRP Roofing Systems To Flat Roof Products.
Raven Roofing supplies have added a GRP, or “fibreglass” roofing product to our flat roofing portfolio. The Matrix GRP system has a long and proven track record as a reliable and easy to fit roofing product. It has all the pre-formed drips and upstands you would expect with a professional roofing system, and can even be used in temperatures down to zero degrees! The annual Raven Roofing Supplies Golf Day was held at Sandmartins Golf Club in Wokingham on Monday 13th September.
Despite occasional light drizzle during the afternoon some excellent scores were made but the eventual overall winner was Lee Phillips of Poppy Roofing with a creditable 42 points.
The team winners were Paul Creed, Mark Charsley and John Bonner, the longest drive went to Sean Wootten and the nearest the pin to Nick Isom.
This year saw the introduction of a new category relating to the fastest loss of the “yellow ball” in the team challenge. Two of the sixteen teams lost the ball after only two strokes and therefore John Lockett and Nick Sykes shared the prize.

Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon
Adrian Tansley of Raven Roofing Supplies has just returned from completing the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon. Adrian competed in a field of 2,000 starters and finished in a very creditable time of three hours, eighteen minutes.
The triathlon included a 1.5 mile swim from Alcatraz Island in the San Francisco Bay, an 18 mile cycle through the Golden Gate Park and an 8 mile run to complete the event
